Plan a garden picnic with a simple setup

Check picnic permission, seating and cleanup arrangements before bringing a group to a garden or park.

Confirm the rules for your group

Ask whether picnics are permitted, which area you may use and whether a group booking is needed. Check rules on decorations, music and outside food before buying supplies.

A public garden still has management rules, and a large gathering may need different arrangements from a pair of visitors.

Keep the setup portable

Choose items the group can carry without several trips from the car. Bring a ground covering only if the venue allows you to use it in the selected area. Confirm seating separately for anyone who needs a chair.

Assign food, drinks and serving items so everyone doesn't bring the same thing. Plan suitable storage for anything perishable.

Leave the area ready for the next visitor

Collect all waste and reusable items, and follow the venue's disposal arrangements. Don't attach decorations to plants or leave food for wildlife.

For Aburi Botanical Gardens, confirm current picnic arrangements directly. Put the approved meeting area and end time in your outing plan, then keep the rest of the day as simple as the picnic.

Rules, fees and opening hours change. Confirm anything that matters before you rely on it.
