Fort Good Hope, Senya Beraku

Senya Beraku, Senya Beraku · Central

A small Dutch trading fort on a rocky headland above a fishing bay, one of the many coastal forts that line this stretch and get a fraction of the attention the big castles do.

The local tip

It is between Winneba and Apam, so it works as a stop on a coastal drive rather than a destination. Ask in the town for whoever holds the key.

Check before leaving

The fort is not consistently staffed. Ask locally about access on the day and expect a small gratuity to be appropriate.
