Ejisu, Ejisu · Ashanti
The restored home of Yaa Asantewaa, the queen mother of Ejisu who led the Ashanti resistance against British rule in 1900, kept as a small museum to her and to the war she fought.
The local tip
It is a short drive from Kumasi on the Accra road, which makes it an easy stop on the way out of the city rather than a trip of its own. Read up on the Yaa Asantewaa War before you go and the rooms will mean far more.
Check before leaving
Confirm current opening hours, as the museum runs on limited staff and has closed for restoration in the past.
